FOR SALE: Antique, fully restored Extension Top Phaeton -dates around 1890. It is a gorgeous vehicle that could be used in pleasure shows, dressage, parades, special events, weddings or as a museum or collection piece. My estimate is that it is sized to fit a 15.2-16.3 hand horse. There are matching shafts and a pole (set up for single or pair). The Phaeton is black, with gold toned pin stripping and detail. It has working brakes. The seats are a dark green (velvet). The gear/undercarraige is ornate with heart shaped stays and unique back springs - and one of the interesting and rare features of this antique (see below). It also has staggered spokes, consistent with the overall high quality manufacture of this vehicle. Of course, it is cut-under, making it safe for turning. It comes with antique tennis net carriage lamps -brass, which are gorgeous also (photo below). The prior owner told me that the makers tags were lost during restoration, so the maker is unknown. This phaeton is very classy and ready for the show ring or for special events. It looks like it came out of the dealer's show room yesterday!

The Carriage Museum of America researched this vehicle for us, and writes: "The "Extension Top Phaeton" is a lovely piece and the rear springs are quite unusual. Most of these vehicles had two plain elliptical springs in the rear and occasionally some type of platform spring as shown in the Carriage Monthly drawing. The body style looks to be from around 1890 and I think this spring style could have been seen then too." I have copies of the drawing mentioned by the Carriage Museum of America above, these drawings were used to help date this vehicle and I can send them via email upon request.

This truly is a gorgeous phaeton. An elderly gentleman had this phaeton restored about 15 years ago and then stored it carefully in his personal carriage collection. I do not believe it has been used since it was restored! This is a must see to believe vehicle.

FOR SALE: Beautiful, restored Studebaker Park Wagon with matching shafts and pole to fit drafts/larger horses (the horses in the photo are 18 hands). This wagon has the original Studebaker tag in the back. We had the Carriage Museum of America research this vehicle, who dates it as a 1911 Park Wagon. It has the optional foot brake lever and a double elliptical spring (what they called a Hayes Spring). It is in excellent condition and is a gorgeous vehicle -in show room condition. The tufted seats are rip free and are soft/supple, the paint job is professionally painted -black box and seats, with brewster green gear and wheat/gold toned pin-striping. The back seat is reversible or is easily removed. It would be a great addition for any collection or for use as a pleasure driving vehicle. The horses below are eighteen hands. This is a rare and wonderful antique vehicle.

Price: $3,600.

FOR SALE: Westwind's Classic Genie (mare). Genie is one of a kind. She is gorgeous and probably one of the biggest horses you will ever see. She is over nineteen hands (I believe the largest mare in the world presently), as gentle as a puppy and rides and drives. She is an excellent advanced beginner's horse. Genie is gorgeous, with long legs, long neck and excellent topline. She would make an excellent exhibition, parade, trail, pleasure driving horse. Because of her size, Genie draws crowds to her, whenever she is shown. Mares like this rarely come on the market. At the Perry National Draft Horse show, we had bigger crowds around Genie's stall than anywhere else in the horse barn. If you are looking for something special, something spectacular...Genie is your girl!

Price: $6,000.

Genie is pregnant (the sire will be Cielo Azure's Corbeau), due date 3/19/2010

Genie's personality is very kind, she does well with any horse she has been put in with. Genie was an orphan and is very bonded to humans but she is very well behaved. Her ground manners are excellent. She stands for the farrier, loads, clips, baths and respects humans.
